Doctor and patient confront each other when facing an unknown illness.

“A Country Doctor” was written for the screen by Claudio G. Fernandes. The script was selected for funding by the Petrobras Cultural Programme 2007. Due to situations that we can only describe as Kafkian, the pre-production only began in August of 2008.
The cast was chosen from among a group that had been pre-selected by a professional theatre actress and drama teacher, Naná Sodré, by means of interviews conducted by the director who subsequently faced the challenge of training actors and actresses that had a wide experience of theatre performance to work specifically in a cinema context.
Rehearsals began at the end of October in preparation for the filming scheduled for the end of January 2009.
